I recently came across a simple yet effective, environmentally friendly homemade window cleaning solution which is guaranteed to work wonders on windows.

We can all probably agree that the best things in life are free or in this instance, incredibly cheap. This homemade window cleaning solution will cost you practically nothing as the majority of the ingredients required are likely to be floating around in the back of your kitchen cupboard. So, its time to get rummaging!

A Simple, Low-Cost & Non-Toxic Homemade Window Cleaning Solution 💡

It may not be entirely free, but it’s undoubtedly the cheapest and most straightforward way to maintain your glass windows. And even better, as an added bonus, it is also non-toxic and doesn’t contain any of the harsh chemicals that are often featured in shop-bought products.

I’ve experimented with different formulas, and this is by far one of the best homemade window cleaning solutions I’ve come across – the results speak for themselves! Go on give it a try you’ll be totally astonished!

White Vinegar Spray

Distilled white vinegar is known to be a powerful and versatile all-purpose cleaner. Its acidic formation will break down dirt and clean off film residue that’s been accumulated on your windows, leaving them streak-free and undeniably shiny. It also has natural antibacterial properties making it completely safe to use around pets and children.

All You Will Need Is…

• A spray bottle
• Distilled white vinegar
• Tap water
• Essential oils (optional for scent)
• An old rag or cloth
• Microfibre cloth

How to use it

1. Mix 50% water with 50% white vinegar
2. Add around ten drops of your favourite essential oils (this is optional but will give it a fresh scent), I personally like lavender or orange.
3. Give the solution a good shake to make sure the solutions thoroughly combine.
4. Spray generously on your window panel always starting from the top and making sure you only do small sections at a time.
5. Wipe the solution over your windows using your old rag/cloth.
6. Dry using your microfiber cloth and – taa daa….it’s that simple!

If your windows are extremely dirty, you may need to pre-wash them beforehand using just warm soapy water; this will remove any harsh grime that’s built up over the years. They can then be regularly maintained using your homemade window cleaning solution.
